Life always continues, we can never truly put life on hold.
While in Med school, it's so easy to hold back and "put life on hold." But life continues on… Animals get sick, nutritional needs change, people die, people drop out of school, pandemics are still haunting society, politics demand attention, homes need repaired, our health and well-being demand changes…
Life isn't perfect, and it's all a balancing act.
Daily, I have more people looking up to me as if I have all the answers, and I don't! I don't know what I'm doing, I don't have the answers, and I only know my next step, sometimes.
As a child I always looked up to adults thinking "man, how do they always know what to do next?" Honestly, we don't, we're just making educated, informed choices!
We have no clue what we're doing, we have no clue whether the choices we have made are the best choices, and we won't know until after it's all over whether it was the best choice.
When I'm thinking negative thoughts about choices I've made, I like to think back to this quote.
"You did the best you could with what you knew at the time. Be kind to yourself and stop over analyzing and replaying every detail, thought and conversation gone awry. It is what it is, and it happened the way it was supposed to happen."

It's okay to not have all the answers. It's okay to be imperfect.
It's okay to be human.
